Privacy Policy

RUWorking helps service pros share their work schedule privately with clients they choose. This page explains, in plain English, what we store and why.
What we store
- Pros (workers): your email, name, optional display name, profession, workplace, city, time zone, your schedule (weekly hours, date changes, time off), the note you show clients, and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password. If you turn them on: your two-step verification secret, hashed backup codes, and passkey public keys.
- Invites: the label you give each client (like “Maria G.”), when the invite was made, used, or revoked.
- Clients (customers): no account or email is needed. When you open an invite, we save the name label your pro chose and a random device cookie on your phone. We keep only a hashed copy of that cookie on our side.
- Client details (optional): a client may give a pro their phone number, email, and whether they want email updates. A pro may add a client's name, phone, email, birthday and private notes. These details belong to that one pro's client list: no other pro, and no other client, can see them. Clients never see a pro's private notes.
- Bulletins and reminders: updates a pro sends to their clients, who received them, and when they were read. Bulletins appear on the pro's schedule page for those clients; clients who turned on notifications get a push alert.
- Bulletin emails: sent only to clients who ticked “Email me updates”. Every email names the pro's business and has a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops that pro's emails right away. We count emails sent per month to stay within our limits.
- Messages: questions clients send and pros' replies, so both sides can read the conversation.
- Push notifications: if you turn them on, your browser's push address and keys, so we can send you an alert.
- Security logs: short-lived records of failed sign-in attempts and IP addresses, used only to stop abuse. These are deleted automatically.
What we don't do
- No ads. We never sell or rent your data.
- No tracking or analytics cookies. No public schedule pages.
Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies: one to keep you signed in, one security (CSRF) cookie, and for clients, the device cookie that remembers your access. That's why there's no cookie banner.
Who helps us run RUWorking
- Render hosts the website and database (United States).
- Resend sends account emails such as password resets and email confirmations, and bulletin emails to clients who opted in.
- If you turn on push notifications, your browser maker's push service (for example Google or Apple) delivers them.
Your choices
- Pros can edit their profile, change their email, or delete their account (which deletes their schedule, invites, messages and settings) under Profile → Account.
- Pros can revoke any client's access at any time. Clients can remove a schedule or forget their phone from the “My pros” page.
